Research requests
The Laconia Historical and Museum Society is currently cataloging its extensive collection which includes 10,000+ historic objects, manuscript materials, and photographs to make them more accessible to the public. The collections are NOT currently accessible to the public for research purposes but are accessible through programs, exhibitions and online virtual exhibits.
We are pleased to answer questions about Laconia local history, whenever possible, based on published information or information available in our files. If the information is readily available, we can often provide an answer at no charge, although contributions toward the support of our work are always welcome.
Questions which require extensive research, on the other hand, involve time — for which a charge must be made, depending on the complexity of the inquiry. For these types of inquiry, we will negotiate the fee with you before beginning the research.
