LACONIA — In conjunction with “Celebrate Laconia’s” observance of the city’s 125th anniversary, Pat Tierney, executive director of the Laconia Historical and Museum Society, will present a “Virtual Main Street Laconia Tour” at 7 p.m. Monday, March 19, in Rotary Hall on the Lower Level of the Laconia Public Library.

Main Street images before Urban Renewal, from the Laconia Public Library and LHMS collectrions, will be featured. From the South End toward the library and railroad station, Tierney will present “a geographically correct although chronologically challenged” journey. Many 19th century scenes with a rural feel will be interspersed with the City’s 20th Century growth. Many classic but subsequently demolished buildings will be highlighted along the way.

This program was first presented last September in partnership with the Taylor Community Woodside Series. It has been revised and updated.

The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
